Liza Kenny

senior event planner, designer & rental manager

Liza's journey in Hospitality and Tourism began in 2002 at the original Hotel Georgia, where she discovered her passion for event planning. This led her to pursue a degree in Hospitality Management, setting the foundation for her career. Over 21 years, she's worked with esteemed organizations like Grouse Mountain Resorts, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, amassing 14 years of diverse experience in roles including Event and Wedding Planner, Catering Sales Manager, and Event Manager.

When asked why she loves planning events, Liza's answer is simple: she's driven by the desire to create. While organization and attention to detail are crucial, her true passion lies in turning ideas into unforgettable experiences. She sees herself as a natural artist, skilled at crafting anything with the right tools and materials.

Halloween holds a special place in her heart, as it allows her to craft custom costumes for her family. When not orchestrating events, you'll find her crafting with her kids, exploring markets, or enjoying quality time at a nearby brewery with her husband and two girls.

Ali Picco

Event Planner & Marketing Coordinator

Ali is a natural planner, organizer and creator. Her passion for event planning began in 2018 after her own wedding planning journey. Seeing all the details she had thoughtfully planned and designed come to life was an amazingly impactful moment for her. From there, she knew she wanted to create this same experience for other people.

With a background in classroom and community support and early childhood education, Ali previously worked at a local elementary school as an Education Assistant, as well as an Administrative Manager at a local bakery and café. Additionally, she has freelanced for a variety of companies providing graphic design and marketing support. Prior to joining Spotlight, she successfully built her own event planning and design company. Through this endeavour, she quickly distinguished herself as an exceptional planner and service provider, building up a large portfolio of work in a short period of time.

When she’s not planning events, you’ll find Ali with her husband, two young children, and two dogs. She will often spend some time with the family in the spring and summer at their property in Christina Lake, BC. She’s recently taken her love for photography to the next step by offering photo services for couples, families, maternity and newborn sessions. She loves motherhood, design, and spending time with her friends.
